Your Most Powerful Asset

A website is your most important marketing and sales asset. It’s the magnet you’ll use to attract audiences. It offers the hooks needed to engage and capture leads. And, it’s your 24/7 sales person.

But to maximize its impact, your site must prioritize messaging and seamlessly guide visitors to relevant information. It must also enable anyone on your team to quickly update the content and appearance, without needing a developer.

Our Approach

L2 Digital approaches website design and development a little differently than most other firms. We don’t create custom sites from scratch.

Instead, we work with you to identify a template available in the SquareSpace, HubSpot or Shopify galleries, and then customize the look, layout and features to match your brand and content requirements. The result is a website that is easy to edit, works on mobile and desktop, launches sooner, and saves you a lot of money on design fees.

1. Discovery

Let’s map how your new site needs to look, work and read. We’ll guide you through the process of arranging all the pieces, coordinate feedback from your team and help you visualize the end result.

2. Content

The purpose of your website’s design is to prioritize and accentuate your content. At the end of the day, your website copy and imagery is what captures attention, engages visitors and motivates action.

3. Customization

Time to import your selected website design template into a reliable content management system (i.e. SquareSpace, HubSpot or Shopify). From here, we will customize the colors, font, layouts and modules to effectively present your copy and brand to visitors.

4. Launch

Time to take your new site live, and in some cases replace an existing site. Trust us to launch your new site in a way that ensures a seamless transition for visitors and search engines. We’ll then put safeguards in place to catch and address issues quickly.

What is a creative brief?

A creative brief is a document that outlines all site requirements and preferences. This may include brand guidelines for font and colors, logo usage instructions, design preferences (likes and dislikes), sample sites, image preference, and content management system choice.

What is a page development?

Page development is the process of building a web page to showcase the page copy. It includes formatting, aligning and stylizing page sections, modules, and elements.

What does launch support include?

To launch a website, your domain name (e.g. www.domain.com) needs to be changed to point to your new website files. In addition, specific settings need to be removed to make the site publicly accessible, and different tools (i.e. Google Search Console) need to be activated to monitor for issues post launch. We can handle this process for you or work directly with your IT team to make the necessary updates.

What is a sitemap?

A sitemap is an outline of the pages that will exist on your site, and their parent/child relationships to one another. Sitemaps are designed to clearly show where a page will live on the site, and how someone will be able to navigate to it.

What is brand customization?

All websites have global elements that are used across all pages. This includes brand colors, font styles, image presentation, logo placement, etc. Brand customization is the process of updating these global elements to align with your brand identity.

Why do images need to be formatted?

Image size plays a significant role in how quickly a web page loads. The quicker it loads the better both from a user and search engine perspective. In addition, how the image appears on the screen depends on its dimensions, alignment and they type of device it’s being viewed on. Image formatting is intended to ensure your images look great on all screen sizes.

Why only SquareSpace, HubSpot or Shopify?

First and foremost, SquareSpace, HubSpot and Shopify are three very solid content management systems. They allow for easy navigation to and editing of website content. In addition, they all offer sizable template galleries with live template previews, giving you a good sense of how the site will look and feel.

How many templates can I choose from?

What’s nice with the templates available in SquareSpace, HubSpot and Shopify, there is a lot of flexibility in terms of how the page will ultimately look. We’ll present our top three choices based on the creative brief, and then work with you to select the optimal choice. If additional template options are needed, we can go back and uncover other options. At the same time, the template is just a starting block.

What are 301 Redirects?

When migrating from your current site to a new version, it’s important to make sure visitors to pages not available on your new site are sent to relevant pages on the new site. 301 redirects are permanent redirects that send people to the right page and tell search engines that the content on that old page has permanently moved to this new page, please use it instead.
